The House

Château du Mont is a 17th-century private estate in Normandy, set within landscaped grounds and within easy reach of Deauville (under 30 minutes) and Honfleur (≈15 minutes).

The house, although restored to modern standards, retains its original architectural character, with formal reception rooms arranged along a central axis and opening onto the gardens. It is used primarily as a private residence and is made available for a very small number of weddings and private gatherings each year.

Format

The château is offered on an exclusive-use basis for a limited number of multi-day weddings.

Typical structure:

  • Friday afternoon arrival

  • Saturday celebration

  • Sunday relaxed departure / brunch

  • Monday morning check-out

This format allows time for installation, a pre-wedding dinner, the event itself, and a calm departure.

Capacity & Accommodation

  • Ideal guest size: 40–80 guests

  • Accommodation at the château: approximately 18 guests, with a further 10 in the farmhouse and 4 in the dépendances

  • Additional accommodation available nearby (Deauville, Honfleur, local villages), ranging from B&B to 5-star hotels​

The Estate

The house and grounds offer several options for ceremony and reception, depending on the scale and style of the event.

The landscaped gardens are a central feature of the property, with formal lawns, mature trees and a large fountain forming a natural focal point for ceremonies and outdoor gatherings.

  • Formal gardens, terraces and central fountain

  • Interior reception rooms

  • Pool house – a restored barn with its own kitchen and wooden floor (informal gathering / late evening use), capacity 32 seated

Each event is configured individually in consultation with the planning team.

Practicalities

The château is well-suited to professionally planned events and film work.

  • Access suitable for supplier vehicles

  • The château has a large kitchen and back kitchen laid out with catering in mind

  • Three-phase power (triphasé) available on site, both in the kitchen and externally

  • Space for marquee installation if required

  • Distances:

    • Deauville: ~28 minutes

    • Honfleur: ~15 minutes

Working Method

The château does not operate as a traditional commercial venue.

  • Weddings are planner-led

  • Catering, bar service and production are arranged independently

  • We do not operate in-house catering or corkage models

  • We host only a limited number of weddings each year in order to preserve the character of the estate.

We are happy to recommend trusted professionals familiar with the property.

We host a very limited number of weddings each year.

  • Exclusive-use weekend (Friday–Monday)

  • The château is offered on an exclusive-use basis, with pricing reflecting the private nature of the estate and the limited number of weddings hosted each year.. Detailed pricing is shared on request.
